Thought for the week: Assertiveness
Assertiveness is important for your self-care. Asserting yourself helps you in so many ways. It allows you to feel competent and strong, it allows you to express yourself effectively, and it allows you to feel heard. Asserting yourself raises your self-esteem and helps you to earn the respect of others. Yet with all these benefits, being assertive doesn’t come naturally to most people. The great news is that it can be a learned skill.
Practice asserting yourself in various situations. Notice how it affects how you feel about yourself, and how others treat you.
